Who's responsible
Everything on TorontoPoker.org is published under the TorontoPoker.org editorial team. The team is responsible for the room profiles, tournament coverage, online-poker pages, lessons and calculators. We hold local facts that can change, like a room's hours or a tournament date, to a stricter standard than general strategy, because those are the ones that can send you on a wasted drive.
What the team checks
- Poker-room facts against the venue's or operator's own pages.
- Ontario online-poker status against iGaming Ontario.
- Dates on anything time-sensitive, so you know how fresh it is.
- Past tournament results kept separate from verified upcoming or recurring events.
- Correction and sourcing standards that stay the same whatever our affiliate relationships are.
How we write
Specific, not hype. We'd rather tell you a room publishes $1/$3 No-Limit Hold'em than call it "the place to play". You can decide what's good for you once you know what's actually offered.
Evidence, not guesses. A business listing isn't proof of a licence. A game on a menu isn't a live seat report. When we don't know whether a game is running, we say so and point you to the live list or the phone.
Useful, not padded. We'd rather give you a room profile you can act on, a pot odds calculator you can check a hand with, or a regional comparison that tells you how far each room is, than a pile of thin articles saying the same thing.
