Privacy policy

What we collect when you read TorontoPoker.org, why, and how to opt out. Last updated September 26, 2026.

TorontoPoker.org is an independent poker guide. We don't run a gambling product, take wagers or ask you to create an account to read anything. Questions about this policy go to contact@torontopoker.org. We're published at https://torontopoker.org/.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages actually help people and which ones don't. It uses cookies and collects:

  • the pages you visit and how you move between them;
  • the referrer, meaning the page or search that sent you here;
  • your approximate location (city or region level);
  • your device, browser and screen type.

We look at this as totals, for example how many people read the Pickering Casino Resort room page last month, not at individual visitors. We don't sell it. Google processes the data under its own terms; how Google uses information from sites that use its services explains how.

To opt out: install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Server logs

Our host records standard request data: IP address, browser user-agent, the URL requested, referrer and time. We use it to run, secure and debug the website.

Email you send us

If you write to contact@torontopoker.org, we receive your address and whatever you put in the message. We keep it while your correction or enquiry is open, then delete it, or archive it only if we need it as a record of a published fix.

The calculators stay in your browser

When you enter a pot size or buy-in into one of our tools, the maths runs in your browser. Those numbers aren't sent to us or stored by us.

What we don't collect

  • No user accounts, player profiles or payment details.
  • No advertising pixels or social media tracking pixels.
  • No sale of personal information.

Links to other websites

We link to casinos, poker operators, iGaming Ontario, the AGCO and other third parties. They have their own privacy practices, and we don't control them.

How long we keep things

Host logs follow our hosting provider's retention settings. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting on our Analytics account. Email is handled as described above.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. You can also ask us to delete email you've sent us. Write to contact@torontopoker.org. Analytics data isn't tied to your name, so we usually can't pick out your visits from anyone else's. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Age

TorontoPoker.org is for adults 19 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 19.
