Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto hosted WSOP Circuit stops in 2024 and 2025. As of 14 September 2026 we have not found a first-party announcement of a 2026 Toronto Circuit series from WSOP, GGPoker or Great Canadian.

2024: the first Circuit in Toronto
Great Canadian and GGPoker announced the inaugural stop on 26 February 2024: eight ring events, 22 March–1 April 2024, in the then-new Great Canadian Toronto poker room. The pre-series estimate was about C$3.9 million across the festival, with a C$2,000 Main Event and a C$3,500 High Roller.
The WSOP Circuit results for that festival include:

Those two events are why the 2024 stop mattered locally. The room showed it could run a multi-day series, not only cash games. A 1,397-entry Main Event is a big field for a first-year stop.
2025: a larger return
Great Canadian's recap of the 10–22 April 2025 series reports 11 ring events, 8,203 total entries, 3,150 unique players and more than C$7.56 million awarded. The same recap gives the C$2,000 Main Event 2,139 entries and a C$3.74 million prize pool. Pengxiang Ruan of Thornhill won that Main Event for C$510,245.

What a WSOP Circuit stop is
The World Series of Poker runs its main summer series in Las Vegas. The Circuit is its touring schedule of shorter festivals at casinos in different cities. Circuit winners get a gold ring rather than a WSOP bracelet, which is why you'll see these called "ring events." A stop usually mixes a Main Event, a High Roller and a run of smaller buy-in events over roughly a week or two, as both Toronto stops did.
For a local player, that means a Circuit stop is the rare chance to play a big-field, multi-day event without leaving the GTA. It also means the room gets very busy. If you go to Great Canadian during a series, expect cash-game waitlists to look different from a normal week; see waitlists and live lists.
What "WSOP Ontario" usually refers to
When people say "WSOP Ontario" or "World Series of Poker Toronto," they usually mean one of three things:
- WSOP Circuit Toronto: the 2024 and 2025 live festivals at Great Canadian Toronto. That's what's covered here.
- WSOP or WSOP Circuit events elsewhere in Canada: including large festivals outside Toronto. Those aren't a Toronto date.
- Online WSOP-branded series on Ontario-regulated sites: a software festival isn't a live Circuit ring at Woodbine. See regulated poker sites for which operators are licensed in Ontario.
If a result or schedule doesn't name Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto and a year, it doesn't belong in the table above.
Why we stay careful about 2026
Great Canadian has now hosted two Circuit festivals. That shows the venue can run the series. It doesn't show that 2026 dates exist. We'll add a 2026 row only when WSOP, GGPoker or Great Canadian publish one.
