What the hours mean in practice
The 24/7 rooms: Toronto and Pickering
Great Canadian Toronto and Pickering both publish round-the-clock poker. That's what makes them the go-to rooms for a game after a late shift or a Sunday morning session. Just remember that 24/7 means the room is open, not that every stake is running. In the quiet hours, you may find fewer games going than on a Friday night.
Mohawk: Thursday to Sunday only
Mohawk runs noon to 4 a.m., but only Thursday through Sunday. If you're west of Toronto and want to play on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, you'll need Brantford or Toronto instead.
Brantford: every day, earlier on weekends
Brantford opens at noon Monday to Thursday and at 10 a.m. Friday to Sunday, closing at 4 a.m. every day. The earlier weekend start helps if you're making a day trip from the GTA.
Casino Niagara: noon to 3:45 a.m.
Casino Niagara's poker room is open daily from noon to 3:45 a.m. If you're coming from Toronto, count backwards from closing to decide whether the trip is worth it on a given evening.
An open room is not an open seat
Hours answer one question: is the poker room scheduled to be open? They don't tell you whether your game is running, or whether there's a seat. A room can be open with no $2/$5 game, or with $1/$3 running and a 15-name list.
Closing time matters too. Most players don't want to sit down 45 minutes before a room closes. If you get to Mohawk at 3 a.m., you won't get much poker in.
A same-day routine that works
- Pick rooms that are open when you'll be there.
- Check the live list or waitlist shortly before you leave. See the waitlists page for each room's method.
- Confirm your exact game and buy-in.
- Leave enough travel time to meet the room's check-in rules.
Late-night sessions deserve a plan of their own. If you're heading to a 24/7 room after midnight, set your stop time before you sit down and decide how you're getting home. Tired poker is expensive poker: the calls get looser and the hands you'd fold at 9 p.m. start looking playable at 4 a.m.
Holidays and operational changes can shift hours with little warning. If a published schedule matters to your plans, call the room the same day.
