What $1/$3 actually means

The blinds are $1 and $3, but the financial exposure is driven by the buy-in and effective stacks. A player buying for $300 is making a very different decision from someone thinking only about the $3 big blind.

Rake matters

Low-stakes cash games are especially sensitive to rake because the fee is large relative to many pots. Toronto currently publishes a 10% rake capped at $20; always check the exact room rules.
